“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!’”

Abraham Kuyper

Christian

All truth and knowledge are rooted in the person of Jesus Christ. He is the embodiment of truth. We strive to teach all knowledge as an integrated whole, centered in Jesus Christ as He is revealed in the Bible. No subject is purely secular or separated from the truth of God. All subjects must correlate to every other subject because they all flow from the same source: the one true God. As a Christ-centered school, Pinnacle teaches students so they will see how math, science, English, Latin, and even art all affect one another. Students are also consistently guided in what these subjects teach us about the person and nature of God.

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:16-17

Mainstream education in America is failing because the pursuit of virtue has been lost.

Classical

The classical model of learning fits well with a biblical worldview. Subjects are not taught in isolation, and the purpose of education is not to master a body of knowledge. Instead, it is to acquire universal tools of learning so the student will be equipped for a lifelong journey of acquiring wisdom. The well-trained mind can apply itself to any area of study but especially to the deep questions of the nature of God and eternal truth.

Modern education trains productive workers, but classical education focuses on developing virtuous thinkers. An education that reaches only the mind and not the heart has failed. By instilling a love of learning in students, they are able to pursue goodness, beauty, and truth throughout life. The three stages of classical education equip students with knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. Through emphasizing all three aspects, students are equipped to become fully-formed thinkers in Christ. By partnering with parents to foster virtue, Pinnacle offers a more complete education.

Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.
