Pinnacle Classical Academy seeks to glorify God through the Christ-centered classical training of children.
Pinnacle Classical Academy seeks to graduate students instilled with a lifelong love of learning, equipped for service in love to God and man.
In the classical approach to education, the grammar phase is all about facts. Why? Because students in this phase of their education (grades K-6) are already natural sponges, soaking up all sorts of information from the world around them. The classical method fills their minds with truth. Through songs, chants, rhymes and more, their “memory muscle” is developed, and the foundation is laid for a lifetime love of learning.
The logic stage (grades 7-9) builds on the foundation of facts already laid in the grammar phase and increasingly focuses on integration of these facts. Students in this phase tend to be natural “questioners” and “debaters,” and, rather than stifling this tendency, the classical method teaches them to argue well and to support their ideas with evidence and logic. We pursue truth that doesn’t avoid criticism but rather withstands it.
Whatever the subject matter, beautiful and compelling communication of truth is the essence and capstone of the rhetoric stage of classical education (grades 10-12). Building on the previous years, the students learn to present facts and logically-formed arguments in a persuasive and winsome manner. Students in high school love to express themselves, and the rhetoric phase “works with the grain” to equip students to use these abilities in service of God and neighbor.
