And [Jesus] said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.”
All I’ve Got
When I am actively surrendering my as-is heart to God, intentionally submitting my deepest desires to Him and accepting His desires as my own, and consciously giving my best to sharpen my mind while also handing it to Him to transform, I think it’s safe to say I’m giving Him all I’ve got! This year my family and I have taken some large steps toward giving Him all we’ve got. I’ve come to the conclusion that, although the physical body is not mentioned in Matthew 22:37-38, what I put in my body effects what I have to offer, heart, soul and mind. In the same way, the amount of activity that I engage in effects what I have to offer. This year, as part of loving God with all I’ve got, I’m learning to better take care of my body better through exercise, sleep, and what I eat. In the same way that I can choose to sharpen my mind and offer God the best I can, I also want to offer him an abled-body, full of energy and health.
All We’ve Got
Giving Him all I’ve got effects everything, my budget, my calendar, my phone plan, and my dinner plans. I’ve become convinced that everything I allow myself to do or not do in life effects my heart, soul and mind. I want to offer Him the best I can and I intend to spend my life improving what I have to give. As a parent, I will bend over backwards to keep my kids at PCA because I believe down to my core that at PCA, my kids are learning to love God with all they’ve got, and I can see that what they have is being improved upon rapidly and with excellence. Thank you PCA! You’re helping my whole family learn to love God better with all we’ve got.
