Slugs and Bugs – A Hit!
Slugs and Bugs Live
Friday of last week, Pinnacle Classical Academy hosted a free family concert featuring Randall Goodgame of Slugs and Bugs. It was a hit! The concert took place at Covenant Presbyterian Church and the room was so full they had to add extra chairs. My children and I had never heard any of the songs outside of the four that play on their website, but we were all singing and waving our arms and dancing at times with Randall. All three of my children took turns going up on stage with other kids to lead hand motions which they had barely learned. And when it was all over, I buckled my 2-year-old into his carseat and he started yelling his rendition of one of the songs at the top of his lungs, “Have you seen my bunny? UNDER WHERE?! UNDER WHERE?! UNDERWEAR!”
Catchy Songs Last Forever
We bought a Slugs and Bugs CD and the next day that’s all that played in our home. By evening, my 8 and 6-year-olds had memorized their favorite song and performed it for us in lightning speed. In typical PCA style, they’ve introduced my children to something fun and wonderful that has great meaning and depth of truth. The chorus of their favorite song goes like this, “God made me like He made the sea, He filled it up with green and blue. He sent His Son, the only one, to fill me up and make me new.” With a catchy song like that, they now have a great biblical truth hidden in their hearts, and it’s so much fun to sing about! Thank you Randall, and thank you PCA!
