Pumpkin Patch
Tuesday was the long-awaited day that the Kindergarten-3rd grades took a field trip to BoBrook Farms Pumpkin Patch. It was a really fun day! The morning started off with a class hayride, followed by many jaunts through the hay maze, or as many called it, Minotaur’s Maze, as well as some good old digging and piling and burying in a huge pit of dried corn kernels.
The morning continued with a hunt in the pumpkin patch, each student searching for just the right pumpkin to claim as his or her own.
Once that was complete, it was on to the Sunflower Maze – a beautiful stroll through a forest of sunflowers, complete with buzzing bees, ladybugs, butterflies and caterpillars.
One caterpillar in particular became best buds with a few of our students.
After a little climbing and playing on the hay bales, the students were able to listen to some farming instruction and play under a big white parachute.
Who doesn’t love a parachute?
The last portion of the field trip was a refreshing break for lunch followed by some educational instruction by the farmers and then back to school.
It was a great trip to the Pumpkin Patch!
